Thai Section 118 severance: service brackets versus actual entitlement
Separate service-length brackets, final wage and legal eligibility before using a severance estimate.
The tool maps service length to the ordinary brackets
Section 118 starts the ordinary severance brackets at 120 completed days and increases them through 400 wage days at 20 completed years. The tool compares exact calendar anniversaries before selecting a bracket.
Monthly wage is converted to a daily rate
For monthly wages, the tool divides the final monthly wage by 30 and multiplies it by the bracket days. Enter the relevant final wage, not take-home pay after deductions.
A calculated amount does not establish entitlement
Termination facts, statutory coverage, contract terms and Section 119 exclusions can change the legal outcome. The tool does not decide whether a termination qualifies.
Special compensation and other rights are separate
The result excludes payment in lieu of notice, special compensation, damages and better contractual or work-rule rights. Review employment records and seek advice from a labour inspector or qualified professional.
